The museum is divided into six main rooms: the library, which houses documents related to Koh Lanta's past and present (collected documents for the museum); the sheriff's room, which houses items such as the sheriff's desk, television, typewriter, and so on; the Chinese culture room; the sea folk culture room; and the Malays or Muslim culture room.All of the last three rooms are located next to each other. Unique appliances in the last room will display the islanders' lifestyle models, such as models showing fish capture, mangroves, charcoal kilns, and so on, in order to create a lively atmosphere for the visitors. The front of the museum is decorated with a small public park for visitors to relax.
